Our home is your home

Our ger guesthouse was founded in 2003. My main purpose in setting up the guesthouse, as well providing financial support for my family was to help introduce Mongolia's  beautiful and wonderful landscapes and cultural traditions to travellers and at the same time help our guests in achieving what they want out of their visit and  make sure they leave with a good impression about Mongolia.

Jess from Eternal Landscapes is helping me with my guesthouse blog. I have been looking for photos for her to put on the blog and found these.

These flowers are planted by my mum  - Chantsal. She was born in 1955 in Kharhorin and although she is now retired she worked at the flour factory here. My grandmother taught her when she was a child  how to make  traditional items  such as the Mongolian deel  and  she still enjoys making products by hand (which we sell in our small shop). Her favourite time of year is autumn although in the summer she likes to drink airag (mare's milk  - Mongolia's traditional drink) and to plant the vegetables and flowers in our guesthouse yard.

This photo was taken back in June of this year. Jess has brought a group of three over (Sarah, Stacey and Alison) and they were learning to make their lunch - vegetarian dumplings. My hobby is cooking and I enjoy teaching people how to cook Mongolian dishes. There is usually a lot of laughter!

Now in Kharkhorin, the temperature is -8 (at night at the moment it is around -17 to -20). Although it's cold, our ger guesthose is open all year so if you're thinking of visiting then please do get in touch. My home is always open to travellers.

Thank you for spending time on my blog. I will be back soon.

Welcome!

I thought I would introduce my family. Then you know who we are!

Our family!
I'm on the left. There is also my oldest daughter Ganchuluun (who we call Ganju) - she is 13 years old. There is also my youngest daughter Nominchuluun (who we call Nomioko) and she is 9 years old. My mother's name is Chantsal (and her friends call her Chantsa).

This photo of my family was taken at my ger guesthouse. We live in Kharkhorin in central Mongolia. It's located in Ovorkhangai Aimag - if you look in a guidebook it may list it as Karakorum (it was once the capital city of the Mongol Empire and is home to the oldest monastery in Mongolia - Erdene Zuu Khiid).

Our home town!
My ger guesthouse is open to all travellers. I can also help to arrange horse treks as well as transport to other places such as Ogii Nuur - a beautiful freshwater lake.

My friend Jess (who is the owner of Eternal Landscapes) is helping me with this blog. You can always email her as well.

Thank you for spending time on my blog. I will be back soon.
